The proposal aims to establish a cutting-edge 0.5-meter Robotic Telescope (ART) observatory at IIT Hyderabad, the largest among all IITs, dedicated to research, education, and public engagement in astronomy.

The primary objective is to establish a state-of-the-art 0.5-meter Robotic Telescope (ART) observatory at IIT Hyderabad, designed for extensive research in planetary science, bright stars, nebulae, asteroids, and comets. Simultaneously, it serves as an educational tool, engaging students in astronomy projects and acting as a teaching laboratory. The observatory will play a pivotal role in outreach and citizen science programs, collaborating with IASC and NASA, fostering public interest in astronomy. Additionally, over two years, the project plans to generate a large dataset for interdisciplinary research in big data science, incorporating machine learning applications, offering valuable contributions to the field.
