Indian Institute of Technology Hyderabad (IITH) is one of the six new generation Indian Institutes of Technology that was established by the Govt. of India in 2008. The institute is built on a magnificent 578 acres of land, housing nearly 200 state-of-the-art laboratories and 5 research and entrepreneurship centers. It is in line with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 which aims to bring the streams of arts and sciences together. The National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) has ranked IIT Hyderabad No. 8 and No. 1 among the second generation IITs. IIT Hyderabad also ranks high in Atal Innovation Rankings (ARIIA) with a ranking of No. 7, rubbing shoulders with the first generation IITs.
The institute has a strong research focus with more than 6000 research publications and 195 patent disclosures, 1440 sponsored/ consultancy projects, and 170+ industry and academic collaborations. IITH has MoUs with more than 50+ universities in the USA, Japan, Australia, Taiwan, and Europe.
