Endowment

Description:

Hostels are the places where students spend a substantial portion of their time spent on campus. This is the place where the learnings of life are gained by students. Hostels need constant improvements over a period to keep the infrastructure in line with the day's development and provide accommodation commensurate with times. The endowment amount required for the naming of the infrastructure is Rs. 5 Cr ($ 700,000). The returns arising out of the endowment will be utilized in periodic improvement of the hostel facilities over and above the regular maintenance.

Naming the Hostel by the donor:

1. Donors can name the hostel infrastructure as per their wish.
2. The donor shall ensure that the proposed name is enhancing the reputation of the institute and not damaging the reputation/dignity of the Institute.
3. The returns of the endowment are subject to varying yields over time. Hence, IIT Hyderabad may reach out to the donor for a suitable top-up at a future date if the need arises.
4. Periodic updates on the fund utilization (if applicable) can be possible based on mutual conveniences.
5. Individual rooms, wings of a hostel, and the entire hostel are available for naming rights.
6. The cost of naming can be worked out accordingly.

Validity of the naming right:

The naming right will be for a period of 10 years' subject to extension on additional top-up contributions to sustain the infrastructure. This will be based on mutual agreements.
