Description:

In view of encouraging research among students irrespective of their economic status, IIT Hyderabad has decided to support Ph.D scholars with a top-up scholarship of Rs. 10,000/- pm to excellent Ph.D students. The plan is to support about 5% of Ph.D students annually (i.e. is about 50). The fellowship will be named by IITH after the Donor. Endowment amount needed to support one scholar - Rs 24 Lakhs.

Selection Criteria:

  1. The PhD students who want to avail of this fellowship must stay on campus.
  2. The PhD students with financial difficulties will have to present their case and prove their claims.
  3. The duration of support will be decided on a case-to-case basis for a maximum duration of 12 months.
  4. The IITH authorities will go through the applications and their decision in this regard would be final.

Validity of the naming right:

The naming right will be for a period of 10 years' subject to extension on additional top-up contributions to sustain the infrastructure. This will be based on mutual agreements.
