IIT Hyderabad strongly believes in the overall development of the students and sports are an excellent way to keep oneself fit physically and mentally. Also, sports play an important role in the character-building of an individual.
The Pioneer batch of IIT Hyderabad (B.Tech, M.Tech, M.Sc) is celebrating their 10th year reunion in December 2022 on Annual Alumni Day. The batch would like to leave a legacy for the next generation of students as an expression of their gratitude.
The batch proposes to establish a world-class sports infrastructure on the campus for the physical and mental well-being of the students. The concerned sports facility (courts/equipment) to support sports activities will require funding of about INR 30 Lakhs.
Two possible infrastructures that can be supported by the batch are :-
1. Indoor sports facilities such as billiards tables, table tennis, and full-fledged indoor games rooms
2. Lawn tennis court with the equipment can be developed.
The institute would like to acknowledge the batch contribution by naming the infrastructure appropriately, in the form of a plaque at an appropriate location.
